What is Filler Dissolving Treatment?
Filler dissolving is a medical treatment that uses hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid (HA), to safely and effectively dissolve unwanted dermal filler. It can correct overfilled areas, unevenness, migration, lumps, or results that no longer suit your facial shape.
Hyaluronidase works by breaking the HA molecules in the filler into smaller particles that are naturally cleared by the body. The treatment is fast, precise, and performed only after a thorough assessment — ensuring safety, suitability, and optimal aesthetic outcome. It can be used on any area previously treated with HA filler, including the lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, tear troughs, and nose.
Is Filler Dissolving Treatment right for me?
This treatment may be ideal if you want to:
Remove unwanted or excessive filler
Correct filler migration (e.g., migrated lip filler)
Smooth lumps, bumps, or uneven texture
Reverse outdated or poorly placed filler
Start fresh before having new filler
Restore a natural appearance
A patch test may be carried out before treatment. Hyaluronidase is then injected into the targeted area using a fine needle. Most patients experience mild stinging or swelling, which usually settles within 24–48 hours.
Dissolving results can be seen within 24–72 hours, with full clearance typically achieved within a week. If desired, new filler can usually be placed 2–4 weeks later once the tissue has healed and fully settled.
